One year later...

So we have been married for a year! And what an exciting year it has been. We have become god-parents to the cutest, most beautiful little angel, we finished off our house in Howick (well Mike did), we quit our jobs, migrated to a VERY foreign country and are still madly in love... Man, this marriage thing rocks!

So on the morning of our special day, we had a very busy, full day ahead of us - teaching. You see, most of our teaching hours are accumulated over the weekends, and our anniversary happened to fall on a Sunday. The worst part was, that we teach at different campuses the whole morning!

Anyway, it was not all doom and gloom, because we both did some investigative questioning on our colleagues, and enquired about which restaurants would be fitting for this memorable occasion. Many options were provided, and we decided on a quaint, little, Italian restaurant called Ciao Bella. We made a reservation in the afternoon, and were excited to treat ourselves.

When we got there, we were handed a complimentary glass of white wine (oh how we miss wine!) and we soaked up the ambiance before looking at the menus. We ordered a delicious Tagliatelle al Ragu (handmade pasta with beef &pork ragu and mascarpone) and Thin Crust Pizza with chicken, pesto goat's cheese and rocket.

Free wine - Whoop whoop!

We treated ourselves to some red wine - South African red wine I might add. And we shared a Tiramisu (Italian trifle of coffee flavoured biscuits, mascarpone and Amaretto) for dessert.

Complimentary bread and the fancy things to go with...

Red wine my old friend! Also, check out that pizza and pasta.

The highlight of the evening had to be looking adoringly into each other's eyes, toasting to our marriage and... (almost as if on cue) the man at the table next to us giving out a loud, meaty snort. Delightful!

It was a super evening overall, and these two little birdies are looking forward to a life-time of happy and loving memories together.
