Tacos, burritos and sombreros

The other night, we were very excited to be invited to a Mexican restaurant for a friend's birthday dinner. On our way there, Ross suddenly pulled over to the side of the road. The accelerator cable on our bike had snapped! After phoning the guys we rent our bike from, and being told that they couldn't help us, we had to find someone who could! So Mel hopped off and Ross started pushing the scooter down the very busy road, looking for a mechanic to help us. It was already quite dark, which made this exercise rather terrifying, because other motorists only saw us when they were already quite close - which made for some near misses as they flew past. We were rejected by three different mechanics in our attempts, and our hopes of going out were taking a serious beating. Upset that we were going to miss the dinner (and having countless people staring, laughing and hooting at us as Ross pushed the bike along the road and Mel trailed behind carrying the helmets), we were not in the best of moods. Luckily we found a mechanic who could help us and, 45 minutes later, we were on our way again!

With the bike trouble behind us, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at a very colourful and vibrant restaurant. After good food (spicy tacos and tasty burritos), good company and some tequila slammers we headed off our favourite rooftop bar for a night-cap.

Our naked bike!

Mmmmmm, Sangria

Gorgeous colours and wonderful food. We will be back!
